The game isn’t over when you reach the end credits in Dragon Quest 11. There’s still a huge amount of story left, and if you put the game down, you’re missing out on the true ending to it all. This isn’t just a post-game quest, either — there’s an entire storyline, with fully-voiced cutscenes, new characters, new locations, and a true final boss. It’s completely insane, and completely missable.
Here, I’m going to break down everything you need to know about the post-game quest; how to access it, what you need to do to change past events, and when you’ll be able to regain some of your lost powers. It might seem like a one-way trip that puts you at a disadvantage, but without spoiling everything, let’s just say it’s possible to turn everything back to normal. You can revisit areas that were previously seemingly locked-off forever, and unlock new challenges that lead to the biggest rewards. If you played all the way to the end, this stuff is worth experiencing for yourself. Ben and rey archive.

How To Access The True Ending | Post-Credits Quest Guide
[WARNING: MAJOR END-GAME SPOILERS AHEAD.]
After defeating the last boss and watching the ending credits, you’ll be invited to save your game. After saving your game, you’ll be sent straight to the title screen — and that’s it. It’s the end. Or is it?
No! Of course it isn’t the end. There is a ton of story left. Like, about 20+ hours worth of story, complete with voice-over and cutscenes. There is so much story, I’d say the game is completely missing the third act. Yes, there are actually three parts to the story — and if you shelve the game after defeating the Lord of Shadow, you’re missing a ton of content.
Here’s how to access the true ending quest.
And from there, you’ll be able to complete the main story quest! For the first step, you’ll have to explore different optional areas to collect recollections of the past from Yggdrasil Seedlings. There are three of these, and watching the memories will show you what to do next. It’s all straightforward from here.
It’s completely crazy that DQ11 hides so much story behind the end credits — and after kicking you back to the title screen! This isn’t just extra content, this is the true ending of the game.
Experience Points are the lifeblood of any good JRPG, and if you want to earn it fast in Dragon Quest 11, you’ll want to keep a few handy tricks in mind. The game isn’t designed to be too difficult, and you can easily skip most random battles while travelling around the country-side. Still, there will be points where you’ll want to level-up and enhance your party to get the best skills.
If you’re looking to collect a whole bunch of skill points and unlock the best abilities, you’ll want to farm for enemies and look for metal slimes. Metal slimes are a constant in Dragon Quest 11, you’ll find them just about everywhere you go. There’s a small change they’ll appear in literally every single fight, but there are tricks you can use to defeat them when they do appear. Defeating even a single metal slime will usually earn everyone in your party a level.
There are more tricks to earning XP, and I’m going to share what I’ve learned below.

XP Farming Guide | Tips & Tricks
The best way to earn XP if to farm Metal Slimes. It’s just that simple — too bad Metal Slimes are incredibly rare. They’re not just rare, they’re also really hard to kill. The trick isn’t necessarily finding Metal Slimes. It’s all about actually defeating them.
First, let’s go into some simple XP Farming techniques. Theses can be used at any point in the game, and they make life really easy.
While doing some basic XP farming, you’ll also run into rare enemies called Metal Slimes. Liquid Metal Slimes and Metal Slime Riders unfortunately don’t count.
Metal Slimes (and Vicious Metal Slimes) are the best creatures to hunt. You’ll usually see 2-3 with a monster in a fight, and they appear totally at random. They’ll usually retreat quickly, and they only take 1 HP of damage per hit.
Some characters have attacks that specifically target Metal enemies. Erik and Hendrik both have abilities that target metal enemies. Erik is especially good — equip two whips, and unleash his Metal-damaging special ability to easily wipe out most metal enemies.

Best Skills to Get in Dragon Quest XI![]()
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a huge new entry in the prolific JRPG series, and the first mainline title we’ve had in the west since 2010. It’s massive 100-hour plus game with tons to see and do, various different party members, and a lot of skills to invest in. If Dragon Quest XI is your first game in the series, or even your first JRPG for that matter, it can be a bit daunting to look at the skill system and figure out where to spend points.
Every time a character levels up in Dragon Quest XI they get a number of skill points that you can then use in Character Builder to purchase skills. There’s a wide variety of skills, and multiple routes you can use to build each character, so we’ll help give you a few points on where you should put those points.
Please note, there is another party member that joins later on in Dragon Quest XI, but for the purpose of spoilers we’ll only list that character as spoiler for now, and give a few skills. Also, we should note that we’re going to be focusing on skills you can get relatively early in the game, so nothing after the first ending of Dragon Quest XI.
